Job Description Job Description About The Role AVP Solutions is hiring a friendly, organized Collections Specialist to join our Canoga Park, CA team. In this role you’ll manage accounts receivable, contact clients about overdue balances, and use professional negotiation and skip tracing techniques to secure timely payments while maintaining excellent customer relationships. You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive team that values integrity, clear communication, and a practical approach to resolving billing issues. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently, meeting targets, and improving cash flow through efficient collections work. What You’ll Do Monitor customer accounts to identify and prioritize outstanding debts Review historical account data to determine appropriate collection strategies Contact clients by phone and email regarding overdue payments with a professional, solution-oriented approach Use skip tracing and research tools to locate responsible parties when necessary Process payments, refunds, and adjustments accurately in the billing system Resolve billing discrepancies and customer credit issues while preserving customer relationships Maintain and update account records and documentation of collection efforts Prepare regular reports on collections activity and accounts receivable status Who You Are Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or in a similar accounts receivable/collections role Strong knowledge of billing procedures, collection techniques, and skip tracing methods Familiarity with laws and regulations related to debt collection and customer privacy Excellent written and verbal communication skills with effective negotiation abilities Proficient with MS Office and database/accounting systems Ability to meet performance targets and manage stress with patience and professionalism High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred Why You’ll Love Working Here We offer a supportive work environment in Canoga Park with competitive benefits, including health insurance, paid sick time, paid vacation, and paid holidays.
