Job Description Job Description ED Admitting / Sub-Acute Admissions Specialist Responsibilities Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements Collect and update patient demographics and medical information to ensure accurate reimbursement Register patients and update records using EPIC Obtain bed authorizations and manage admissions Handle claims, referrals, and authorization requests Identify services requiring prior authorization Verify insurance types (HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal) and complete pre-registration Collect co-pays and explain patient financial responsibility Communicate with case managers, physician offices, and external healthcare facilities Support multiple departments and remote locations as needed Provide excellent customer service to patients and internal staff, both in person and over the phone Qualifications Strong customer service skills Proficiency with medical terminology EPIC experience preferred Bilingual Spanish a plus 3 years of healthcare experience in a hospital setting Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Pedro, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
