-This position is an entry level position. - -The position is a
committed 4 year plan between the Associate and Bimbo Bakery. -
-Associate works under the direction of the Supervisors and the
Journey Mechanics. Responsible to learn production sequence.
Performs basic lubrication, oil changes and Preventative
Maintenance on conveyor systems and bakery equipment. The associate
will need to work efficiently, safely and with a minimum amount of
disruption to the production process. Responsible for seeking
understanding of communications by clearly expressing facts and
asking correct follow-up questions. - -A training program will be
provided and must be completed to the satisfaction of supervision
with periodic reviews from leadership. - -At the completion of the
4 year plan, the associate will become a journeyman mechanic. Bimbo

Requirements:Essential functions and Requirements:Essential tasks:
--- - - - - - - -Attend regularly and on time to assigned job with
a five (5) day work schedule (including weekends and split days
off). Shifts are for eight (8) hours or more. A 4-10 shift could be
substituted if the shift needs. --- - - - - - - -Perform
preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. --- - - - - - -
-Perform basic maintenance calls. --- - - - - - - -Respond to
maintenance and line stoppage calls prepared to provide emergency
repairs efficiently and quickly. Move material as required. --- - -
- - - - -Follow company policy and OSHA regulations to ensure safe
work habits and conditions for employee and fellow employees.
Responsible for preventing loss or injury due to improper or unsafe
operation of equipment. Responsible for following Lock-Out and
Tag-Out procedures as well as specific procedures dealing with
confined spaces and hazardous material/ --- - - - - - - -Maintain a
clean and safe work area within the Maintenance Shop at each work
site where jobs are performed.Ongoing requirements and standards:
--- - - - - - - -During periods of unworked time or downtime, it is
required that work is to be done as assigned by Supervision. --- -
- - - - - -A quality product is the responsibility of each
employee. Be alert to handle or report any damaged or inferior
product to Supervision. --- - - - - - - -Keep area of assigned work
neat and clean. Assist other employees when possible. --- - - - - -
- -Notify Supervision of any equipment problems. --- - - - - - -
-Maintain a high state of safety awareness. Keep hands out of
moving machinery. Lift properly. Be alert to movement of materials
or other people to give right of way as needed. --- - - - - - - -Do
not change job procedures without authorization from Supervision.
--- - - - - - - -Perform other duties as assigned.Physical and
Mental requirements: --- - - - - - - -Capable of exerting up to 100
pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force
frequently to lift and move mechanical components. --- - - - - - -
-Mental and visual ability to identify various parts, read
mechanical and electrical blueprints, read instruction, gauges,
scales, thermometers, micrometers, etc. must be able to do basic
calculations to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide. --- - -
- - - - -Capable of moving up and down building stairways in plant
to reach job assignments and perform tasks required. Tasks required
working from a ladder or elevated platform and in confined spaces
such as ovens, proof box and bulk storage bins or tanks. Physical
activities required are climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling,
crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling,
lifting, grasping, feeling, fingering, talking and
hearing.Knowledge, skills and abilities required: --- - - - - - -
-High School or equivalent, and specialized or technical training
which may be obtained in high school, commercial or shop courses or
equivalent experience. --- - - - - - - -Must have reading, writing,
and verbal skills. --- - - - - - - -Must possess a high drive to
learn. --- - - - - - - -A relatively high level of analytical
ability is required in order to complete training and learn
troubleshooting. --- - - - - - - -Independent judgment is often
required. Some direct guidance is received from Supervisor and/or
from established procedures or instructions. Errors relating to
equipment may cause injury to employees or may cause unacceptable
product quality. --- - - - - - - -Frequent, internal contact with
Production works and Supervisors. Occasional contact with outsiders
such as contractors and equipment service representatives. --- - -
- - - - -Must maintain clean work areas. --- - - - - - - -Job
