Job Description:
A company is looking for a Trauma Registrar.
Key Responsibilities
Collects and abstracts clinical data for trauma patients from
various sources, ensuring accurate data entry
Codes injuries and procedures using ICD and other relevant tools,
maintaining compliance with state and national standards
Maintains the Trauma Registry database and contributes to quality
improvement initiatives within the trauma program
Required Qualifications
Education equivalent to a Registered Health Information
Technologist (RHIT) or certified coder, with advanced education in
medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
Completion of the ATS trauma registrar course and AIS training
course within one year of hire
Two or more years of experience in coding, abstracting, and data
management in a clinical setting
Ability to interpret medical records and abstract necessary data
for the Trauma Registry
Exceptional data entry and management skills with a high degree of
accuracy
